What is an Escort?
Escort basically means someone who escorts and protects a prominent person. However often a person hired as a call girl / prostitute in order to spend time with another is called as an escort.
The obvious question which arises is that “Is an escort always a prostitute?”
The best answer remains “not always, but usually”.
The legal face of escorting can be quite glamorous, but as one gets down to its details, it is prostitution because all escorts are expected to “work for tips”. An escort is a sex worker who unlike street walkers is not visible to the general public. Neither does she belong to an institution or brothel but can be employed by an escort agency. What is to be kept in mind is that all escorts are not call girls. There are a few legal escort services available also that are basically visual entertainment and nothing more.
